Frequently asked questions
How many lessons do I need before I can take my practical test?
As your Instructor I will let you know when to apply, when your skills have reached the correct standard to ensure you have the best chance of passing.
On the day of your Practical Test I will make sure that you arrive in plenty of time to ensure you can get yourself settled and calm. Before taking your test, you will be nervous, but this is to be expected. The Driving Test is straightforward and has been designed to see if you can drive safely in different road conditions and that you have learned your Highway Code.
How old do I have to be before I can learn to drive and book my first lesson?
You can book your lesson before your 17th birthday and as long as you have your provisional licence. You can have your first lesson on your birthday. Click the link below to find out more.
Do I have to pass my theory test before taking my first lesson?
No, but you do need to pass your theory test before you take your practical driving test.
What do I need to bring with me on my first lesson?
What happens if I need to cancel a lesson?
You normally need to give 24 hours notice, to avoid having to be charged, (dependant on circumstances) as it is difficult to fill that slot. In the case of emergency or illness and if it is not a regular occurrence, then you may not be charged.
How do I book my first lesson?
You’ll find all our contact information in the Lesson Prices page — please fill in your details and we will call you back to arrange your driving lessons.
Can I be picked up and dropped off in different places?
How do I book my test?
You have to book both your theory and practical tests with the Driving Standards Agency, which is the government department responsible for carrying out all driving tests in England, Scotland and Wales. This can be done by phone, letter, or most easily online — for more information get in touch.
What about using your vehicle on Test Day?
On Test day my Instructor’s car will be available on test day for two hours, one hour for your pre-test lesson and for an hour whilst you are taking your driving test, please contact me for more information and prices.
